We specialise in traceable, extraordinary gemstones sourced directly from our own mines and trusted partners across Africa. Over the past decade, we’ve created some of the world’s most significant jewels and sourced some of the planet’s rarest stones.

I like to invite people into our world — where Danish nobility meets African adventure. Whether visiting our private showroom in Nairobi or joining us on a gemstone journey from source to setting, guests experience a world rooted in honesty, rarity, and emotional depth. We started this company by sourcing exceptional gemstones, eventually opening our own mine in Zimbabwe — the world’s first all-female mine — and building a brand that merges elegance with ethics.
Now, I’ve begun offering guests the chance to experience this world more fully. Through gemstone safaris in northern Kenya and beyond, I take people with me on real expeditions — travelling by helicopter, tracing new deposits, meeting tribal partners, and seeing what it really means to discover a gem in the wild.

I’ve always lived for adventure — and that’s ultimately what brought me here. I entered the gemstone industry and began combining my passion for exploration with my profession, embarking on expeditions to some of the most remote and seldom-travelled places to trace the source of gemstones. With a background in safaris, fluency in regional languages, and years of bush experience, I’ve developed a unique skill set: I find gemstones where few people even know they exist.

From Danish nobility to African adventurer

I’ve been living and working in Africa for many years now, but I grew up on a small island in Denmark. I come from one of Denmark’s oldest noble families and grew up surrounded by history, storytelling, and nature. But it wasn’t until I began travelling through Africa that I felt the calling to create something different — a fusion of heritage and impact. Together with my wife Jhaleh, I founded Rosenkrantz to create something lasting and meaningful.

Discovering what no one thought was there

One of my favourite expeditions takes place in northern Kenya. It’s a region largely unexplored in terms of gemstones. Over the past six years, I’ve worked closely with local tribes in the area — and together we even discovered tsavorite in a place where no one thought it existed. This journey blends wilderness with refinement, adventure with romance — a full-circle expression of what Rosenkrantz represents.

Discovering gemstones is something everyone dreams about at some point — it sparks the imagination. The landscapes, the people, the wildlife — it’s a journey like no other. What I love most is seeing someone wear a piece we’ve created and knowing it’s become part of their personal story. We believe gemstones have the power to transform lives, and that the journey from mine to masterpiece is just as important as the final product.
