Beth Kendall – Wilder & Wren

What inspires my work

My inspiration comes from my cottage garden, wildflower meadows, femininity and the nostalgia of childhood summers. I like to romanticise life in the rural countryside, turning simple, everyday rituals into floral reveries.
Wilder & Wren began nine years ago, when I was at home with my first-born. Contrary to the narrative that women can lose their identity in new motherhood, I found the experience to be deeply creative. For the first time, I was no longer tethered to a role outside myself, and I became fully present with my surroundings. My attention turned to the seasons, to flowers and plants, and I reconnected with making things by hand – something I hadn’t done since art school. That period laid the foundations for Wilder & Wren, and what started as small projects gradually grew into selling pressed flower art, cards and prints online, in shops and galleries, and sharing my work with a supportive community on Instagram.

What I create

I create seasonal, intentional pressed flower art, as well as prints and curios. My collection also includes picture frames, decorative homeware and jewellery. Each piece is rooted in the beauty of nature and celebrates the rhythm of the changing seasons.

My favourite part of what I do

I love working from my cottage in the Dorset countryside, close to my family, pets and garden. My quiet life and the natural world bring endless inspiration to my work. I especially enjoy connecting with people who like what I do, and it means a lot when someone says they recognise my brand – because that feels like they know me, even if we’ve never met. Storytelling is also something I value, as everything I create is so personal. In many ways my work is a romanticised version of my real life, and I hope that comes through in Wilder & Wren.
